Women’s wages still have a long way to go

Despite advances in education and experience, women haven’t been able to close the gender gap, according to a White House report cited in the Wall Street Journal. Women are more likely to work in jobs that pay less than men and also head up single-parent households, causing many to be poor,   the Wall Street Journal reported. Even when women hold the same education level and work in the same jobs, they earned about 75 cents for every dollar a man earned in 2009, the story said.
