SBDCs slated for funding cuts

A New York Times blog is reporting that the Obama administration plans to cut federal funding for the nation’s small business development centers by about 10 percent in its proposed 2012 budget for the U.S. Small Business Administration. The centers, which provide counseling to small businesses, would see their funding cut to $103 million from about $113 million in fiscal 2011. SCORE, however, which uses volunteers for mentoring and programs, will retain its $7 million grant, the blog  said.
