Increasingly, digital tablets are entering the workplace, The New York Times reported. An Apple executive said in a conference call last month that more than 80 percent of Fortune 100 companies were trying the iPad, the story reported. By 2015, tens of millions of tablets from leading technology companies will be used at work, Ted Schadler, vice president and principal analyst with Forrester Research Inc. in Cambridge, Mass., told the Times. It will be the fastest uptake of any device in the enterprise ever. Faster than PCs, faster than laptops and faster than smartphones, he said.
More employees are bringing their own tablets to work and using them to check their corporate e-mail and calendars. That’s prompting companies to incorporate them in their technology packages, the article said. See how competing brands stack up.
